About Allyson O’Brien

My photography is inspired by my love for nature and animals.

Growing up near the Tennessee River, I started carrying a camera with me as as a teenager, hiking around Signal Mountain and often visiting Cades Cove in Gatlinburg. My passion to observe and learn about wildlife took me to Colorado, allowing me to capture the beautiful landscapes of the Rocky Mountains. While living there, I encountered not-so-wild  wildlife in the most unexpected places.

While living in Colorado, I ventured south through the Grand Canyon, into the Painted Desert of Arizona, north through Yellowstone, and up to the Bad Lands of South Dakota, shooting on 35 mm film with my retired Canon.

Years later, I landed in Texas where I have grown to love the western culture in Fort Worth. Residing within hours of the hill country provides opportunities to photograph everything from peaceful farm life to bucking broncs.

For me, success is being able to capture the relationship between animals in their natural habitat. Granted they know I am there, camo or not. When wildlife allow me to share their space, it is an incredible blessing.  I hope others may have a glimpse of those moments through the images.

I am also available to photograph your family events, camping trips, and reunions, as well as, hunting and fishing trips.
